Mount Baker Foundation and Chuckanut Health Foundation have partnered to open Go! Grants in 2025. At both of our organizations, we recognize that true and lasting change stems from the collective power of communities. Building and strengthening this collective power is essential to overcoming systemic barriers, advocating for equitable opportunities, and creating sustainable improvements that benefit all residents. Our commitment to power building reflects our belief in the potential of every community to lead its own transformation. We prioritize supporting communities most impacted by health inequities, including communities of color, rural areas, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant and refugee populations. These communities often face significant systemic barriers to health and well-being. By investing in initiatives that cultivate leadership, foster collaboration, and amplify voices, we aim to address these disparities and support a future where communities are at the forefront of shaping their own destinies.
2025 Go! Grants: Power Building Grants
Grantees should center their efforts on building and strengthening collective power within their communities. Power-building initiatives may vary according to each community’s unique needs and context. However, successful power-building generally includes key elements:
Leadership Development: Cultivating local leaders who can inspire, organize, and represent their communities effectively.
Community Base-Building: Strengthening networks and relationships within the community to foster solidarity and collective action.
Coordinated Collective Action: Mobilizing the community to work together toward common goals and advocate for systemic change.
